On June 1st, 2021, Children’s day, the Shanghai Yanhua Charity Foundation was officially established at Huashan Hospital of Fudan University.

       The leaders of the foundation, leaders and experts of Huashan Hospital of Fudan University, experts from Children’s hospital of Jiaotong University, and media reporters were invited to attend the inauguration ceremony.

During the ceremony, one of the main founders of the Yanhua Charity Foundation, professor Zhengxin Wang from the Huangshan Hospital of Fudan University, recounted the successful application process for building the foundation.

According to the introduction, The Shanghai Yanhua Charity Foundation is a jointly initiated non-public foundation created for public welfare and non-profit activities supervised by the Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau. The predecessor of the foundation began with the Chinese Children’s Mercy Society Wang Zhengxin-Yanshan/Fengshi Joint Relief Fund that was committed to assisting people in need by improving living conditions, providing funding for illnesses, and providing assistance to those in poverty because of illnesses while following the mission of “promoting charity spirit and focusing on public welfare undertakings”.

Xin Ma, deputy dean of Huashan Hospital of Fudan University, delivered a speech congratulating the establishment of the foundation, and expressed his gratitude to the Shanghai Yanhua Charity Foundation and other social charities for their contribution. Huashan Hospital will continue to support this work and cooperate with the foundation to contribute to social welfare and charity. Great love merges with warmth, the two units with a sense of social responsibility and charitable mission are united. Their cooperation will surely save more lives in trouble.

Unveiling Ceremony

The establishment of Shanghai Yanhua Charity Foundation is a new starting point and a new journey. The foundation will unite social forces, help thousands of families, carry the fire of hope, and spread love and warmth to the world.

After the unveiling ceremony, Ms. Yang Jiru presented children’s day gifts to children after liver transplantation surgery on behalf of the foundation to cordially express the foundation’s care for children after their transplantation surgeries and to send good wishes.

At the same time, experts with rich clinical experience held open discussions regarding providing assistance to children in need of liver transplant. They also provided suggestions on how to further optimize the return visits and assistance for children after liver transplantation, giving the foundation and this project some valuable advice.
