On June 1st, 2021, Children’s day, the Shanghai Yanhua Charity Foundation was officially established at Huashan Hospital of Fudan University while the signing ceremony of the Charity Relief Project for Children’s Liver Transplantation in Huashen Hospital was also held.

Leaders and experts from Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau, Huashan Hospital of Fudan University, Children's Hospital of Fudan University, Children's Hospital of Shanghai Jiaotong University, as well as members of Shanghai Yanhua Charity Foundation and media reporters were invited to attend the inauguration ceremony.

The signing ceremony of the Shanghai Yanhua Charity Foundation-Huashan Hospital Charity Relief Project for Children's Liver Transplantation was held on the same day. During the signing ceremony, Professor Zhengxin Wang of Huashan Hospital of Fudan University spoke about the development of Huashan Hospital's charity relief project for children's liver transplantation over the years, enumerating the conditions of many children's liver transplants treated by Huashan Hospital, including postoperative rehabilitation and humanistic care.

Afterward, Rui Jiang, deputy director of the Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau, Xin Ma, deputy dean of Huashan Hospital of Fudan University, Jimin Tao, director of the Welfare and Children Division of Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau, Huiying Wang, director of the medical department of Huashan Hospital of  Fudan University, and other leaders and experts jointly witnessed chairman Jiru Yang of the Shanghai Yanhua Charity Foundation and Professor Zhengxin Wang Huashan Hospital of Fudan University signing the Shanghai Yanhua Charity Foundation-Huashan Hospital Children’s Liver Transplant Charity Relief Project. The first phase of funding has been put in place to aid children’s liver transplantation, a new milestone in the charity aid project.

Signing Ceremony

After the launch of the Shanghai Yanhua Charity Foundation-Huashan Hospital Children’s Liver Transplant Charity Relief Project, it will ensure its transparent operation and standardized procedures. The main focus is to improve the lives of families with children that have congenital liver disease and are suffering from poverty because of it, but other projects related to aiding families in need will be developed in the future. It is also hoped that more caring companies and caring people will pay attention and join in to provide more help to families in difficulties because they have children with serious illnesses.
