Yanhua Public Welfare Year-End Visit Record – Bringing Companionship and Love Before the New Spring
As the Spring Festival approaches, the team of Shanghai Yanhua Public Welfare Foundation has been conducting visits and exchanges one after another. They revisited families of children who had undergone surgery, visited families staying at the "Yanhua Little Home" during their recovery, and held annual discussions with partner organizations. Through periodic reviews and on-site visits, they learned about needs, coordinated services, and prepared for the advancement of public welfare projects in the new year.
Visiting Yanhua Little Home, Accompanying Families Through the Recovery Phase After Surgery
Foundation staff went to the "Yanhua Little Home," talked with parents about their children’s recent follow-up visits and recovery progress, learned about their practical needs during treatment and daily life away from home, and extended pre-holiday greetings and care to the parents.
During the visits, the staff also played with the children, helped tidy up the rooms, and did simple decorations. This relaxed and warm interaction brought a sense of relief and companionship to families recovering amid busyness and anxiety. For families still in the treatment and recovery phase, such visits are not just about checking in on recent developments; they are a form of continued support. Going forward, the foundation will continue to provide accommodation support, rehabilitation coordination, and psychological care services based on the families’ evolving needs.

Visiting Children’s Families, Continuously Monitoring Recovery Progress
Foundation staff recently went to Xiaobu Home and once again visited Xiao Wan and her family at their temporary residence, offering warm greetings and conversation. Xiao Wan was born in 2018. Due to a mutation in the ZNFX1 gene, she developed primary immunodeficiency and was the first reported case of this kind in China. In October 2024, she successfully underwent a living-donor liver transplant with her mother as the donor. Later, in June 2025, she received hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and went through a long recovery process.

In January 2026, the foundation conducted another post-surgery follow-up visit for Xiao Wan. After her second surgery, her various physical indicators have gradually stabilized, and her recovery continues to improve. During the visit, staff discussed recent medication, follow-up examinations, and care arrangements with the family, continuing to follow up on her rehabilitation needs. Xiao Wan, well-behaved and lovely, shared fruits and snacks to express her gratitude and happily talked about things she recently enjoyed. The staff also spoke with Xiao Wan’s older sister, who had to interrupt her schooling due to her sister’s treatment, about study plans, providing additional practical support to the family. They also delivered New Year’s care packages and special assistance for the subsequent rehabilitation phase.

Exchanging Views with Partners, Exploring Project Development Directions Together
Foundation staff also visited Shanghai Ren De Foundation for exchanges and discussions. The two sides had in-depth conversations about public welfare platform operation experience and cooperation directions for the coming year, focusing on the progress of projects on the Alipay Public Welfare Platform. Drawing on the implementation experience of the "Lighting the Way for New Liver Babies to Seek Medical Care" project on the Alipay Public Welfare Platform, they discussed future optimization directions and possibilities for more project collaboration.
During the visit, the foundation’s chairperson met with the secretary-general of Shanghai Ren De Foundation for a brief discussion on future cooperation and resource coordination.
Colleagues at Shanghai Ren De Foundation shared relevant experience and suggestions based on their platform operation and project management practices, providing useful references for the foundation’s project advancement in the coming year. This exchange further deepened mutual understanding and laid a good foundation for future resource coordination and collaboration.
Each visit is an expression of care and a responsibility; it is an exchange and a journey together. In the new year, Shanghai Yanhua Public Welfare Foundation will continue to accompany children and their families through every stage of treatment and recovery, join hands with partners, keep the protection ongoing, and let hope grow steadily.
